APPLEBY, SR.
Apr. 13, 1952-June 26, 2018

Tommy Ray Appleby, Sr., 66, a native of San Antonio, TX, and a resident of Tillman’s Corner, AL for over 40 years, departed this world to be with his heavenly father on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. Although retired, he was an active member in First Baptist Tillman’s Corner Church, where he served in multiple ministries including the choir, elderly home visitation and the finance committee. He was preceded in death by his father, Buster Appleby; mother, Bernice Appleby; brother, Larry Appleby; father-in-law, Cecil Bemis and mother-in-law Sarah Bemis. Tommy is survived by his true love and life-long partner of 39 years, Judy B. Appleby. He is also survived by his four sons, T.R. Appleby (Wyn), Joshua Appleby (Janelle), Jarrod Appleby (Courtney) and Tyler Appleby (Misty); twelve grandchildren, Adi, Aiden, AJ, Allyson, Breanne, Maddox, Nick, Paisli, Peyton, Rachel, Tra, and Zander; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; extended family and friends. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Mobile Infirmary critical care unit and Long Term Acute Care staff for the compassionate, loving and professional care they provided Tommy during his Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis fight. Though he has departed this world, his spirit of joy, love and faithfulness will live on through the lives of all those blessed enough to have him in their lives. No doubt he has already heard God say well done my faithful servant. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 12:00 Noon from First Baptist Tillman’s Corner Church. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Mr. Appleby’s name be made to First Baptist Tillman’s Corner Church. Condolences may be offered to www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.

Judy, I am so sorry to hear of Tommy's passing. Walter and I enjoyed the time we spent with you both on the cruise in 2009 and have followed your lives with your family through Facebook. Tommy was truly a nice gentleman and a disciple of Jesus. I know you miss him terribly but I am so glad you have the assurance of a heavenly reunion. God bless and keep you.
