Joan Bergman

Joan Bergman, age 92, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Azalea Gardens of Mobile, Alabama. Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Joan was born in Brooklyn, New York, and spent most of her life in New York. She was an active and longtime member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Seaford, New York. Joan was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. She was passionate about her vegetable garden and loved staying active, enjoying boating, cooking, quilting, and daily crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bergman; daughter, Claudia Spalding; and grandson, Charles Spalding.

Survivors include her daughter, Paula Sherman, and husband, Bob; son, Jonathan Bergman; and grandson, Christopher Spalding.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 5101 Government Blvd, Mobile, AL 36693.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.
