Marvin Wayne Gibson was a life-long resident of Irvington, Alabama. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Irvington and dedicated many years to the music and sound department. Marvin worked at the Walmart located on Rangeline Road in the maintenance department. Marvin was one of the Alabama Crimson Tide and New Orleans Saints biggest fans. He was an outgoing people person that never met a stranger. Marvin was loved and will be deeply missed by all.
Marvin is preceded in death by his father and mother, Eddie and Vida Mae Gibson, as well as his brother, Jalone Gibson. He is survived by his wife Laura Gibson and siblings Eddie Gibson, Ann (William) Sutton, Gloria Gibson, Beverly (Larry) Tillman, Alvin Gibson, and Theresa Gibson. He was also survived by his wife’s siblings, Tracy (Melvin) Carlock and Lee (Molly) Bull, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, many friends and co-workers.
Funeral services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021. Visitation will begin at 10 A.M. and chapel services at 12 P.M. Graveside services will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Irvington.
