Adell Lundy

Adell Uptagrafft Lundy, of Manassas Park, VA and former longtime resident of Theodore, AL, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the age of 92. She was born at home in Brooklyn, AL to Aburtis and Lulu Belle Dickens Uptagrafft on January 13, 1922.
Mrs. Lundy was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Pastor Ernest Melvin Lundy, Sr. of Coden Bible Church, her parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Walter Coutier her son, Ernie Donna Lundy 6 grandchildren 9 great grandchildren 4 nieces 4 nephews, as well as numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lundys faith and dedication to the Lord served as a testament to all who knew her. Her joy of singing and worship brought joy to others. She will be remembered by one of her favorite Psalms 121:12, I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services, officiated by Dr. Ernest Lundy, will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Mobile, AL, on July 7, 2014 at 12:00PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00AM to 12:00PM. Interment will be in Oddfellows Cemetery, Irvington, AL, following services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Lundys name to Bob Jones University, Attn: Advancement Office, 1700 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC 29614.
