Albert Mckinnell, Sr.

A. Earl McKinnell, Sr., age 75, a native of Mobile and a resident of the Dawes community, passed away on March 17, 2016 at a local hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, George McKinnell & Thelma Miller McKinnell, and sister Lucille Hensley.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cynthia Adams McKinnell, four children - Sandy (Marty) Touchstone, Earl (Stephanie) McKinnell, Jr., Mike (Angie) McKinnell, and Candy (Frankie) Evans; thirteen grandchildren - Wayne Loper, Kristin McKinnell, Adam Loper, Stephen McKinnell, Kelly Nguyen, Brandon McKinnell, Peyton Evans, John-Taylor Evans, Amanda Lewis, Brett Smith, Misty Pitts, Jake Touchstone, and Devin Touchstone; six great-grandchildren - Jaden Farley, Savanna Loper, Sadie Nguyen, Makenzie Loper, Dylan Lomas, and Derrick Lomas; one brother, Michael (Carlene) McKinnell, two sisters - Honey (Wesley) Carter, Betty Jo (George) Blaylock; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He attended Christ United Methodist Church and was a member of Local 798 Ironworkers Trade Union. He was a dedicated lifelong farmer, serving his community for more than 6 decades. He loved farming, spending time with his family, and was an enthusiastic fan of all school and sports activities in which his grandchildren participated.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 21, 2016 at 12:00 Noon, also at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, with a fellowship luncheon following at Christ United Methodist Church Hospitality Room.
