CRISMON
Alfred Leonard Crismon, a native of St. Louis, MO and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, slipped quietly and peacefully into the arms of the Lord, surrounded by his adoring family on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the age of 80. Al served our country in the US Navy aboard the USS Corregidor CVE-58 and retired as a ship broker specialist for the global shipping industry. Al lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed bowling, coaching youth baseball, traveling, watching his St. Louis Cardinals and the Alabama Crimson Tide and attending his grandchildren's many sporting events and dance recitals. Known as "Big Al" or "Bud," he never met a stranger and opened his home and his heart to all. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church; a longtime member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick and was a past member of a Mobile mystic society. He was blessed with 59 wonderful years of marriage to his loving and devoted wife, Sandra. His survivors include his five children, Mike (Rosary) Crismon; Diane Jenkins; Karen Knowles; Lisa (George) Petras and Michele Crismon; twelve grandchildren, Stacey (Luke) O'Neil, Katie (Rich) Joseph, Michael Crismon, Jr., Amy Crismon, Robert Crismon, David Jenkins, Ashley Jenkins, Clinton Knowles, Brandi Knowles, Trevor Knowles, Nicholas Petras and Bradley Petras; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Springhill Hospice, especially his caring nurse Jessica and his dedicated aides, Volanta, Sandra and Rolonda for their years of outstanding care and family support. A Mass will be celebrated at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 10:00 am. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 pm, with the rosary being recited at 7 pm. Entombment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Donations in Al's honor may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
