Alfred Eways, a native of Brooklyn, NY and resident of Mobile, AL, died Tuesday, July 28, 2019 at the age of 86, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. He was a retired army officer, a Vietnam Veteran and retired Intelligence Agent for the US Army. Mr. Eways was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav Eways and Rose Tawil Eways, and his brother, Edward Eways. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lorraine Marjorie Maier Eways; his three children, Erik (Sue) Eways, Christina Eways Goins and Alfred "Andy" Eways; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joseph, Ava and Rosalie Eways; his brother, Philip Eways; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 6l00 Cottage Hill Road, Mobile, AL 36693. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Mr. Eways' name to Alzheimer's Foundation of the South, 5644 Girby Road, Mobile, AL 36693.
