Alfred Wimpee

Alfred Newton Wimpee, a native of Mobile, AL, and former resident of Satsuma, AL, died Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the age of 68. He was a 1965 graduate of Satsuma High School and was loved by his classmates. Alfred served a four-year tour in the US Air Force and earned the rank of Sergeant. After being honorably discharged, he attended Yancey State Junior College. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Owen Wimpee and Pearl Bessie Cunningham Wimpee. He is survived by his brothers, Larry (Barbara Walters) Wimpee and Owen (Linda) Wimpee; his sister, Julie Wimpee (Stephen Lee) Veal; a devoted uncle, Douglas Cunningham; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Mr. Wimpee was blessed with a loving family and friends who cared for him. The family wishes to thank all who had a part in his care. Visitation will be held Monday, October 12, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 1:30 PM in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 34904 State Highway 225, Spanish Fort, AL 36527.
