Alice Vera Criswell Pope, a native of Pinehill, AL and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Friday, October 17, 2014 at the age of 97. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Theodore. Mrs. Pope was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Pope her daughter, Lenore Sutton her parents, Bob and Ethel Criswell sisters, Olean Sheilds, Earldene Lindsey and Doris Flowers and brothers, Loomis Criswell and Jewel Criswell. She is survived by her sons, Ralph Bertie Pope, William I. Buddy Polly Pope and Charles A. Pope her daughter, Nelda F. Glenn McIntyre 15 grandchildren 30 greatgrandchildren 20 greatgreatgrandchildren nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. David Gill and Rev. Jeffrey Copeland, will be held from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening, October 20, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
Interment will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations in Mrs. Popes name be made to the First Baptist Church of Theodore.
