Alma Knott

Alma W. Knott, 91, passed away on February 24, 2016 in Vancleave, MS. She was born in Vineland, AL on June 30, 1924. Mrs. Knott was very active in her church. She enjoyed sharing her testimony and love for Jesus Christ with others. Mrs. Knott was truly a family oriented lady that enjoyed visiting with all relatives.
Mrs. Knott believed in education and worked diligently at the age of 70 to achieve her goal of becoming a high school graduate.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Robert M. Knott, Sr; parents, John and Mollie Weatherly; siblings, Leon Weatherly, MaryBell Minchew, Hannah Barnett, Arnold Weatherly, Merle Weatherly, Georgia Mae Frazure, Marguerite Ethridge and Nell Connell.
Left to cherish her memory, a son, Robert Knott, Jr. (Mary Lou) of Vancleave, daughter, Barbara Sue Gillespie (Tim) of Ukiah, CA; grandchildren, Mike Knott (Amy), Lori Musa (Drew), Eric Gillespie (Ying) and Ryan Gillespie; Great-grandchildren Dylan Black (Hannah), Hunter Knott, Allyson Black, Mary Beth Knott, Brandon Knott, Meagan Musa and Caleb Knott; 3 Great-great grandchildren, Tristan, Kaegan and Brynleigh; Special sisters-in-law, Sally Eckles and Dollie Weatherly; many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 6040 Three Notch Road, Mobile, AL. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Billy Burton officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
