Loving wife, mother, and family rock with a distinct accent, Amalia grew up in Athens Greece where she met the love of her life Librado "Lee" when he was stationed at the American Embassy. Living the original "Big Fat Greek Wedding" and married for 52 years, they lived all over the United States during his 30 years of service in the United States Navy and Coast Guard including Portland, Maine; Boston, Massachusetts; Mobile, Alabama (1973-1976), Kodiak Alaska, Miami, Florida, and finally settling down and retiring in Mobile, Alabama (1980). Amalia and Lee have two sons, Pete Torres married to Mobile's Toni Speakman who lives in Atlanta with Amalia's two granddaughters, Brooke and Brittany; and Dean Torres married to Erin whom reside in Jacksonville, FL. Amalia worked at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association as an accountant and also worked at the US Army Corp of Engineers in Mobile, Al for 27 years in contract administration. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 50 South Ann Street, Mobile, AL.
