Amilean Bodenmann

Amilean Waite Bodenmann, a resident of Wilmer, Alabama, passed away October 21, 2021, at Springhill Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Mary Waite, her brother Larry Waite, and her sister Hazel Howell.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Clarence Bodenmann, sons John (Laura) Bodenmann and George (Kelly) Bodenmann, and five grandchildren, Morgan (Joseph) Phillips, Brett (Ashley) Sheffield, Madisson (Matt) Wacker, James Bodenmann, and Elizabeth Bodenmann. She is also survived by four younger brothers, Frank (Jean) Waite, Isom "Buster" (Orra) Waite, Gilbert "Junior" (Kay) Waite, and Doug (Kay) Waite.

Amilean grew up on a farm in Millry, Alabama, where she learned to tend crops, garden, sew, cook and preserve. She drove a school bus for Mobile County Public Schools (Semmes Elementary, Semmes Middle School, and Mary G. Montgomery High School) for many years, until retirement. She was a founding member of Lott Road Bible Church, where she helped construct the church, taught Sunday school, and served her famous chicken and dumplings at church dinners.

Services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Chapel on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
