Ann Brock Hewes

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and Businesswoman Dana Annette "Ann" Hewes of Mobile Alabama died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday February 6th, 2024, at Springhill Medical Center following a short illness.

Ann was the daughter of Frances O. Fortner and Joel B. Best

Ann was born Dana Annette Best in Ben Hill, Georgia, grew up in Tennessee, attended Franklin County HS, and has lived in Mobile since 1977.

After raising four children as a single mother, Ann was most proud of being a successful businesswoman. At the age of 45, Ann decided to start her own business, "Sav Ur Tax", that offered the services of bookkeeping and Tax preparation. As the business grew it allowed her to invest into real estate. This success gave her the confidence and ability to help others.

Surviving are her four children: Barbara Ivey of Mobile, Dr. Howard R. Brock (Nicole) of Dayton TN, Warner Brock of Mobile and William E. Brock (Nicholas) of Bailey TX,

six grandchildren: Jessica, Benjamin (Olivia), Evan, Patrick, Nicholas, and Charlie and one great grandchild Serena.

A Celebration of Ann's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Mobile Memorial Gardens - 6100 Three Notch Rd
