Annie Kountz Chappell, age 78, of Mobile, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
A “hey, Baby,” a bright smile, a big hug, and a cup of coffee were sure to greet everyone who walked through Nana Chappell’s back door, but behind these small gestures of kindness was a heart that held an outpouring of endless love for each and every one of us, a love steadfast and enduring. We are fully blessed to have been this fiercely loved, lucky to have had such constancy in our lives, and thankful that we will forever know her love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Juanita Kountz, and 14 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Cecil Burt Chappell, Jr.; children, Cheryl Bea Chappell, Cecil Burt Chappell, III (Christy), and Deborah Chappell Hicks (Ed); grandchildren, Kristin Chappell Orso (Logan), Burt Koby Chappell (Shelby), Adrienne Hicks (James), and Caitlin Hicks; great-grandchildren, Zayleigh Raine Gray, Kashton Ryder Orso, and Oakland Lane Orso; one brother, Doug Kountz; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
