Aubreigh Nicholas

Aubreigh Selene Nicholas, age 11, danced into the arms of Jesus on August 15, 2018 at 6:43pm. Aubreigh loved life, family, friends, shopping, and Nick Saban. But she lived and breathed dance. Her courageous battle against DIPG brought worldwide attention to the great need for more research for childhood cancer, specifically DIPG. On March 28, 2018, her 11th birthday, she launched the lemon face challenge which has helped raise awareness about this horrific disease. She reached people such as sports figures, local and state political figures, and yes, Nick Saban. She brought an entire community together as the fiercest warrior in Aubreigh's Army. Aubreigh was preceded in death by her Paw Paw, Billy Freeman, Sr. She is survived by her mom and dad, Brooke and Jay Nicholas, her brother, Kipton Lane Nicholas, her Mimi, Judy Freeman, Nonni and Pop, Meeta and Danny Nicholas, uncles and aunts, Billy and Tina Freeman, Chris and Liberty Freeman, and Shelli and Phillip Barnes. She adored her 9 cousins, Peyton, Preston, and Maggie Freeman, Lainee, Landon, Brendan, and Christian Freeman, Paxton and Phil Barnes.

The goal of her family and friends is to continue Aubreigh's war on DIPG. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Aubreigh's Army or in her name to The Cure Starts Now, to help fund research for DIPG. Thank you to all of the wonderful doctors and nurses at USA Children's and Women's Hospital. Thank you also to the community for all the amazing support she has received in her fight.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM from Cottage Hill Baptist Church. Visitations will be held at Cottage Hill Baptist Church on Monday evening from 5 to 8 PM and on Tuesday 9:30 AM until the service time at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Powell Town Cemetery, Spice Pond Rd. Ext.
