YEAGER
The spirit of Aubrey Ray Yeager passed into eternity on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Crowne Health Care of Mobile. He was 88 years old. A graduate of Murphy High School, he served in the US Navy during World War II. An avid reader, golfer and animal lover, he often brought home injured animals - from kittens to possums to baby ducks to be cared for. Those who knew him remember his kindness towards others; always willing to help anyone unconditionally. He was a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church and was an usher there. His passing was preceded by that of his parents, John LaFayette Yeager and Lottie Alfie Marshall Yeager of Mobile; grandson, Michael David Yeager of Mobile; brothers, J.L. Yeager Jr. and Milton Price Yeager of Mobile; son in law, John Michael Gulsby of Montgomery; sister in law, Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Yeager of Mobile and close friend, Troy Brooks (Marjorie) of Ashburn, GA. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ellyn; a brother, Thomas Gerald Yeager (Tressie); sister in law, Virginia Yeager; sons, Gerald David Yeager (Beverly) of Madison, Indiana and Samuel Mark Yeager (Lynn) of Mobile; daughters, Audrey Raye Hanks (Bob) of Mobile and Jonell Annette Gulsby of Montgomery, AL; six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. There will be a small military service at graveside in the Garden of Honor at Mobile Memorial Gardens on Saturday at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Alzheimer's Association in Alabama at One Perimeter Park South, Suite 100N, Birmingham, AL 35243, USA. Family and friends wish to thank the staff at Crowne Health Care of Mobile and Southern Care Hospice for their exceptional care of our loved one.
