Barbara Woodruff Doan., age 82, A native of Mobile, Al. went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 10. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Franklin A. Doan, Sr. aka "Brother Frank". She is survived by her 2 sons, Franklin A. Doan, Jr (Charlotte) and Michael T. Doan (Kelly), one brother, David Woodruff (Billie), 5 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. Barbara graduated from Murphy High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and the National Journalism Society. She taught Sunday School for 35 years at church's where her husband was pastor. She was employed by Mobile County Public School System for 30 years in various office positions. Her love for photography resulted in her completing family albums and scrapbooks for each grandchild. She was an animal lover, loved to watch birds and loved flowers & plants. Her family and friends will miss her greatly. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Gulf Coast Health & Rehabilitation (Cogburn West) and to her many family and friends who visited and called. Funeral services will be held from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 12 noon. Visitation will start at 10 am. Burial in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
