Barbara Lamey

Barbara Holderfield Lamey, age 90, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by those who loved her most Dec. 17, 2021. Mrs. Lamey was born to Carl and Laura Gray in Mississippi on Oct. 15, 1931. At a young age they moved to Mobile, AL where she became a life-long resident. Mrs. Lamey was a professional house keeper, warm homemaker and wonderful cook. She loved to go to dances at the local VFW where she met Mr. Lamey at a Shriner's Event and where she lured him in with her cooking. She will be deeply missed by so many.

She was preceded in death by her second husband of 17 years, Wilmer L. Lamey; first husband of 30 years, Charles E. Holderfield; son, Carl E. Holderfield; grandson, Christopher N. Holderfield; sisters, Patsy, Undine and Quida; brother, Otto; beloved canine companion, Sweetie Bear.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Barry K. (Susan) Holderfield; step-son, Thomas (Donna) Lamey; grandsons, Bradley C. and Matthew D. (Tanner) Holderfield; niece, Patricia Latham; life-long friend, Lois Gregory; other realtives and friends.

Services will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wed., Dec. 22, 2021 with visitation from 1:00pm until service time at 2:00pm. Interment to follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Mrs. Lamey's loving caretakers, Cassandra Hawthorne, Patricia Brown and compassionate nurses Natalie and Megan with Kindred Hospice.
