Barbara Mccafferty

Barbara Jean McCafferty-an 85 year-old lifelong resident of Mobile passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016. Barbara was a graduate of Mobile Infirmary School of Nursing. She spent most of her career as a Mobile County Public Health Nurse. Barbara was very actively involved in her church and had many volunteer jobs throughout her life, most notably at Little Sisters of the Poor for 20+ years. Barbara was preceded in death by her sweetheart and beloved husband of 59 years, Theodore E (Teddy) McCafferty. She is survived by 3 siblings, brother Harry (Hazel), sister Carol (Jim) and brother Al; children, Marilyn Gengo (Joe), Maureen Hryniszak (Dan), and Theodore E. "Ted" McCafferty (Lisa); seven grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 10:00 AM. The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 5-7:00 PM. Internment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral Mass. There will be a reception at the church following the interment.
