Barbara Walker

Barbara Malone Walker, 79, of Irvington, Alabama, died peacefully at her home on January 8, 2024. She was born in Mobile, Alabama on October 22, 1944 to the late Bernice Tanzy and William Earl Malone.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Eddy Arthur Walker, and brothers Earl Malone Jr., Michael Malone and Gene Brown. She is survived by her sister, Diane Sartain-King, children Cinnamon Walker McCulley (Kirk), Maegan Walker Cruz and Brett Marshall Walker (Jessica), in addition to grandchildren Alyssa Huber, Walker McCulley, Whitten McCulley, Addysyn Cruz, Clara Walker and Brady Walker, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Barbara was born on October 22, 1944 in Mobile, Alabama. She was one of five children and loved her large family dearly. After graduating Satsuma High School in 1963, she worked outside of the home for a number of years and, after marrying Eddy Walker in 1975, went on to dedicate her life to raising her beautiful family. Barbara had many creative interests, including cooking, sewing and crafting. She was a devout member of First Baptist Tillman's Corner and dedicated many years of her life to cooking in their kitchen and serving the members of the congregation.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, January 12 from 10-11am, followed by the funeral service at 11am at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. A private family burial will immediately follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Barbara's name to First Baptist Tillman's Corner, 5660 Three Notch Road, Mobile, AL 36619, or to the charity of your choice.
