Bernard Pritchett, age 90, of Mobile, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Springhill Medical Center. Bernard was a native of Maringo County, Alabama. He went to sea out of high school for 10 years with the United States Maritime out of New York City. After his time at sea, Bernard moved back to Alabama and worked at Brookley Air Force Base until it closed. He continued working with the United States Civil Service until retirement in 1975. From 1976 until 2003 he was the building engineer at First National Bank building in downtown Mobile. Bernard was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Jodi White; son, Jamison White (Rindy); grandsons, Bruce Bryant and Kenny Sanders (Amber); and great grandson, Anthony Bryant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Maggie Pritchett; sister, Annibel Reed; and brothers, James Meadow Pritchett, Milton Robert Pritchett and Archie Pritchett.
Visitation will be held concurrently with the visitation and service for his wife Carol J. Pritchett. Visitation for Carol and Bernard will be held Friday, June 15, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with burial in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
