Bernice Goss McLeod, a native of Carroll County, MS and longtime resident of Mobile, AL died Friday, February 13, 2015. Mrs. McLeod retired from Whitney Bank after many years of service. She was a wonderful mother to her children, devoted to her family and friends and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Benford Goss and Ola Beatrice Moore Goss; husbands, Ralph Eugene Brooks, James Reagan and Donald H. McLeod; and her brothers, James K. "Sonny" Goss and Herman B. Goss, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Brooks (Serenella Minardo); her son, James Ronald Brooks, both of Mobile, AL; her sister, Mary Lois "Tootsie" Parkerson, of Greenville, MS; one grandson, Jamie Brooks; one great-grandson, Bryant Parker Brooks; sister-in-law, Billie Goss, of Brookhaven, MS; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to the staffs and physicians of Lynwood Health Care and Rehab, Mobile Infirmary Hospital, Gentiva Hospice and residents of Lynwood Health Care and Rehab for all of their care, treatment, support and friendship. Funeral services officiated by Dr. Charles E. Brown, will be held Monday, February 16, 2015 at 10:00 AM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. McLeod's name to the American Diabetes Association 12385 Sorrento Road, Suite A-2, Pensacola, FL 32507.
