Berthena Carter

Berthena "Grace" Carter, a native of Birmingham, AL and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021. She was a member of Cypress Shores Baptist Church and graduated from Shades Valley High School. Grace was the ROCK of her family. She was always known for her cooking. Anyone that came to her house knew they were going to have a wonderful meal. She was a loving wife, precious mom, loving "DA" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband James T. "Jim" Carter, her parents, Stephen Albert Davis and Emma Jean Davis, brothers, Albert, Ray, Billy, James Davis and sister, Bobbie Jean Miller. Grace is survived by her daughter, Beverly Pritchard, her son, James "Jimmy" (Sissy) Carter; grandchildren, Josh (Amber) Pritchard, Elizabeth (Felix) Felix; great grandchildren, Bryson, Mason, Weston, Jasmine and Christian; lifelong friend Sharon DeLoach; sister, Barbara (Norman) Chartier, many nieces, nephews, other friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021, at 2pm from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 1pm until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
