Bettie Ruth Summers Williamson, age 88, of Mobile, AL, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018. Bettie was born May 31, 1930 in Mobile, AL, to Frank Elmer Summers, Sr. and Ruth Barnett Summers. She is survived by her husband of sixty four years, Dannie Lee Williamson, Sr.; son, Dannie Lee (Gina Saad) Williamson, Jr.; granddaughter, Kristen Williamson (Brett) Orrell; great-granddaughter, Remi Lee Orrell; brother, Charles Sidney (Lynne) Summers; and many nieces and nephews. Bettie was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Mary Lou Stokes Summers; and brother, Frank Elmer Summers, Jr.
A 1948 graduate of Murphy High School, Bettie completed her Registered Nurse studies at Providence School of Nursing in 1951 and worked 43 years at Providence Hospital. Upon retirement she was an active volunteer with the American Red Cross, Providence Hospital Auxiliary and RSVP - Meals on Wheels.
A visitation will be held Thursday, August 9, 2017 at Mobile Memorial Gardens from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a service in the chapel.
