Betty Jean Andrews Chestnut, 88 years of age, passed away on May 10, 2019. She was born January 28, 1931 and grew up in Phenix City, Alabama. Betty married Charles Glenn Chestnut on December 24, 1949 in Phenix City. Her father, Emory T. Andrews, married them. In 1968, Glenn and Betty moved to Mobile, Alabama and became distributors of Tupperware Home Parties. After 16 years, they retired to travel and enjoy family. She was an active member of Mobile First Assembly of God for 30 years and has been a member of Luke 4:18 Church for the past 10 years. Betty loved the Lord Jesus Christ and will be remembered for her strong and lasting faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Glenn Chestnut, her sister, Thelma Tindell, her mother Mamie Andrews, and her father Emory T. Andrews. Betty is survived by her son, Steven Andrews Chestnut, her daughter in law, Sissy Chestnut; her grandchildren, Michelle Chestnut (William Raymond) Wilson, Stevanie Chestnut (Jefferson Allan) King, Steven Andrews (Katie Mosley) Chestnut, Jennifer Renee (Patrick James) Ward and eight great grandchildren. Also by her sisters, Marilyn Andrews Trowbridge and Glenda Andrews (Victor Earl) Lyerla. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Visitation will be held at Luke 4:18 Church at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service following at 11:00. Burial will follow the service at Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Luke 4:18 Church, 2664 Sollie Road, Mobile, Al 36695.
