Betty Doss

Betty K. Doss, a resident of Mobile, AL passed away due to Parkinson's on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Providence Hospital at the age of 85. She was born on August 26,1935 in Smackover, Arkansas and was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hershel Lane Doss, parents Dial and Alma Nelson and brothers Gary and Eddy Nelson.

She is survived by children Richard (Ann) Doss of Mobile, Kathy (Ellis) Beck of Mobile and Greg (Donna) Doss of Semmes; six grandchildren Melissa (Hunt) Ahrens, Matthew (Danielle) Doss, Kristina (Rob) Swift, Victoria (Chad) Snellgrove, Zachary (Kara) Doss and Samuel (Emily) Doss; and seven great grandchildren Noah Martin, Reiley and Leighton Snellgrove, Kalen and Hezikaia Doss and David and Abigail Doss.

Betty was a homemaker and also served as church secretaries both for Woodmont Baptist and Semmes First Baptist. She volunteered for years at the church library at Cottage Hill Baptist and taught Sunday School most of her adult life. She was a seeker and doer of the Word.

To know Betty was to know one of the sweetest people on this earth. She was adored by all but especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was truly a "Mimi Extraordinaire". Her children definitely called her blessed (Proverbs 31).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation by made to Woodridge Baptist Church Missions Department.

Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 2 P.M. Visitation will be 1 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
