Betty Mae McCurdy Jones, aged 84, of Mobile, AL died Thursday, May 11, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born June 21, 1933 to Charles McCurdy & Ruth Berkley. She was a graduate of Ligonier Valley High School and served in the U.S. Air Force where she met and married her husband, John E. Jones. Betty was preceded in death by John, and their daughter, Cheryl Ann Jones and their son, Michael Kevin Jones. Betty is survived by Tim (Lea) Jones; grandchildren, Jessica (Shawn) Bishop, Jeremy (Ashley) Jones and Michael (Shelly) Jones. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Braxton Jones, and Leo Bishop, one sister, Nancy Bushnell, other relatives, and friends. Visitation with the family for Betty Jones will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Mobile Memorial Gardens. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 14, 2018. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to veteran's charities.
