Betty S. Mills, 77, of Guyton, GA passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Mrs. Betty was born and raised in North East, PA. She previously resided in Mobile, AL and then Canton, GA before moving to Guyton. She was a member of Celebration of Grace Lutheran Church in Canton, GA and became a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church after moving to Guyton. She worked many years as an office manager and bookkeeper before retiring in 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman & Marion Smith, her husband, James Mills, and brother, Richard Smith. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Newton (Steve) of Guyton, and Kathryn Mills of Woodstock; sister, Sandra Seidel (Bob) of Nashville; two grandchildren, Danielle Adams (Steve) and, Jimmy Newton (Christy); and three great-grandchildren, Seth, Daniel and Sarah Adams, all of Guyton, GA, as well as many nieces and nephews. Betty was the hallmark of kindness and compassion and took great joy in doing for others. Many would describe her as a true, Southern Lady. Her love and devotion to her family was endless, second only to her passion for Christ. She loved life and lived it to the fullest and will be dearly missed by many. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 28th at 1 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
