Betty Jane Rivers passed away peacefully after a long illness on Monday, October 21, 2024, at the age of 77.
Betty was born on January 29, 1947, in Mobile, AL to Chesley and Eula Pierce.
Betty attended B.C. Rain High School and worked for the Department of Public Safety State Driver's License Office for 25 years.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Chesley and Eula Pierce of Mobile, AL, and her brother, Steve Pierce of Satsuma, AL.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Howard Rivers of Spanish Fort, AL, and her brothers Aubrey Pierce of Mobile, AL, and Chesley Pierce, Jr.
Betty is also survived by her children Rob Hoover of Spanish Fort, AL, David Hoover, Jon Hoover (Melissa) of Orange Beach, Dan (Dawn) of Fairhope, AL; and her step-children Stephanie Burt (Heath) of Daphne, AL, and Phillip Rivers (Jennifer) of Spanish Fort, AL.
She is lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews and especially so by the pride and joy of her life, her grandchildren, who adoringly called her "MeMe."
The family would like to extend special gratitude to Marzella Wesley, Betty's long-time friend and caregiver.
Visitation for Betty will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens 6040 Three Notch Rd., Mobile, AL 36619 on Sunday, October 27th, from 4-6 P.M.
Burial will be at Veteran's Cemetery in Spanish Fort, AL Alabama State Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, AL on Monday, October 28th, at 10 AM.
