Betty Jean Moore Childs Taylor was born on February 14, 1931 in Chilton County (Clanton), AL. and passed away peacefully on November 22, 2018. She is preceded in death by her father, J. Thomas Moore; mother Esther Mae Griffin Moore; brother Bobby Wayne Moore and her husband, John Robert Taylor. She is survived by her brother James Cecil "Jake" Moore (Margaret); son Max Randolph "Randy" Childs; 4 grandchildren, Angela Lynn "Angie" Scarbrough, Amy De'Shea Lowry (Michael), Aaron Dakota Childs and Joseph Nolan Childs; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She has spent her last 60 years as a resident of Mobile County and has built a wonderful life here. She was a devout Christian and a member of Government Street Baptist Church. One of her great pleasures was researching family history. She also loved traveling, the holidays, cooking, and reading her Bible. Her favorite thing though, was spending time with her family. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday December 10, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilefuneralservice.com. Arrangements by Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
