Betty Jean Wilson, a native of Griffin, GA, longtime resident of Miami, FL and current resident of Mobile, AL, died Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the age of 88. She was an accountant in Miami, FL for many years and received many award in her lifetime. She volunteered at Miami Children's Hospital with her precious Boston Terrier, "Ke Ke". She was passionate about helping others; enjoyed socializing with friends and family and loved to travel. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Hindman Wilson and her mother, Clysta Mae Holloway Montgomery. Her survivors include her loving daughter, Gwendolyn Mathews, with whom she lived in her later years; her granddaughter, Kimberly Miller; great-granddaughters, Heather (Gregory) Barnhill and Rachel Miller; great-great-grandsons, Landon and Aiden Barnhill; sisters, Inez (Ron) Young and Doris Lowman; and a host of other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Betty Jean Wilson's name be made to Nicklaus Children's Hospital Foundation, 3100 SW 62 Avenue, Miami, FL 33155 (1-800-987-8701). A Memorial service and celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
