Bill David Williams Sr., 75, a native of Mobile, AL and a resident of Garland, TX, died at a local hospital in Texas on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. He attended Murphy High School from 1960-1963 and graduated from Semmes High School in 1964. He was a police officer at the University of South Alabama and the Prichard Police Department. David served in the National Guard and retired from the Air Force Reserves in 2003. David was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Brooks Williams and Marguerite Evelyn Lassiter Williams; grandparents, Herschel and Mary Elouise Lassiter; father-in-law, Alfred F. Tolley and mother-in-law, Barbara Jacobson Tolley. His survivors include his wife, Laura Marie Tolley Williams, of Garland, TX; children, Sherri (Guy) Bailey, Mary Leigh (Jason) George, Kathryn (Kenneth) Simpson, Tammy (Kevin) Bailey, Kimberly (Evan) Garrett, David Williams, Jr, Rebecca (Bryant) Horton, Ashley Williams, Matthew Williams, and Aaron Williams; 17 grandchildren; 1 sister, Martha (Harry) Turner; nieces; great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon followed by a funeral service in the Chapel. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens following the service. If attending, please comply with social distancing guidelines. Facial masks are required.
