ODOM, SR.
Dec. 9, 1941-Apr. 5, 2017
Bobby Wayne Odom, Sr., an avid Alabama football fan, passed away at his home Wednesday, April 5, 2017at the age of 75 after a long and courageous battle with Leukemia. He served his country honorably and retired after serving 40 years in the Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Solomon Ranson Odom and Willie Ruth Hoodless; and his wife of 54 years, Mary Diane Odom. His survivors include three children, Donna Odom-Brooks, Deidra (Chris) Craig and Bobby Wayne (Stephanie) Odom, Jr.; grandchildren, T.J. (Samantha) Tolbert, Michael (Ashley) Farragut and Christopher Craig; great grandchildren, Hunter, Carson and Wyatt Tolbert; other relatives and a host of friends and extended family. He was a strong advocate for cancer research and, therefore, has donated his body to science for future research in the hopes that others might be helped. He had the desire to "give back" so that more treatments can be developed and more lives can be saved. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 11:00 AM until service time. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
