Carl Stanley Chapman, born August 17, 1929 in State Line, MS to Flora Emma Brock Chapman and Lisle Henry Chapman, died Monday, March 5, 2018. The family lived in several states during the 1930's and finally was able to move back to Mobile, AL in 1941. Carl met Margaret Daugette at Cottage Hill Baptist Church in 1948 and married her August 20, 1949. In December, 1951 Carl enlisted in the United States Air Force and served 4 years. Margaret was able to go with him after boot camp. During that time, two sons were born to them. After Carl was discharged from the military, they returned to Mobile. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Kendall Jay Chapman; four brothers, Lisle H. Chapman, Jr., Charles Donald Chapman, Robert W. Chapman and Roy L. Chapman. His survivors include his wife of 68 years, Margaret Eloise Daugette Chapman; sons, Stan and his wife, Bridget, and Allen and his wife, Robyn; one brother, Marshall A. Chapman and his wife, Sandy; four grandchildren, Heather (Shane) Booth, Drew (Ashton) Chapman, Laura Bryan and Aaron (Stellina) Chapman; four great-grandchildren, Sarah and Scarlett Booth, Orson Thompson and Giuliana Chapman; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:00 Noon until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to Cottage Hill Baptist Master's Plan, 4255 Cottage Hill Road, Mobile, AL 36609.
