Carlton Lee Everett, Sr. age 75, passed away peacefully at his home with family at his side on Saturday, January 26, 2019. He fought a long and courageous 20-year battle against COPD. Carlton was born in Mobile, AL on August 31, 1943 and was a lifelong resident of Mobile currently residing in Satsuma, AL. He was a proud graduate of Vigor High School and entered his family's furniture business, Everett Furniture, at age 13, working after school and then full-time after high school graduation. During his career he worked as a furniture sales rep, and in the electrical supply business. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Emma Lee Everett, and his brothers, Paul Jr. and Ronnie Everett. His survivors include his wife of 55 years, Linda; daughter, Paige Everett; sons, Carlton Lee Everett, Jr. (Wendy) and Wade Everett; sister-in-law, Kay Everett; mother-in-law, Maurine Dabbs and four beautiful grandchildren, Zac, Alex, Brianna and Katie Everett; other relatives and friends. Carlton was truly a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family. The family would like to thank Carlton's nurse, Jessie Odem, and Kindred Hospice for all the assistance, love and medical care they provided for him. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow Wednesday at 2:00 PM from the funeral home chapel. The family would appreciate any memorial donations in Carlton's name be made to the American Lung Association so that one day a cure will be found for this deadly and debilitating disease.
