Carolyn Jane Vines Browder, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, died Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the age of 85. She was a retired librarian for the Mobile Public Library. She loved reading, dancing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Chester Vines and Edna Jernigan Vines; her husband, Louie Ray Browder; two sons, John Daniel Maples, Jr. and Raymond Chester Maples; her sister, Sandra Lister; and her brother, Ray Vines and his wife, Shirley. Her survivors include her daughter Sherry Maples (Tommy) Tew; three grandchildren, Lauren (Craig) Ramsay, Patrick Tew and Josh Tew; three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Caroline and William Ramsay; one nephew, Jeff (Patti) Lister; two nieces, Renee (Ed) Gillis and Debbie (Floyd) McDonald who was very beloved and devoted to her aunt; brother-in-law, Bob Lister; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon.
