Carroll Thomas Nix, born May 17, 1941, departed this life February 23, 2016 at the age of 74. He was a native of Henderson, TN and longtime resident of Mobile, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glover Nix and Johnnie Beene Nix; two brothers, Elmo Nix and Doyle Nix and three sisters, Loraine Nix Evans, Kay Nix Cox and Jeanette Nix Varadore. His survivors include his wife of 25 years, Virginia Ann Rockhold Nix; his daughter, Debi Nix (Brian) Solomon; two sons, David (Joy) Nix and Joe (Jessica) Elam; two step-daughters, Lynn (Chris) Thibodeaux and Jeni (Andy) Poole; grandchildren, Rachel Devine, Ryan Devine, Sarah Nix, Preston Nix, Kali Gillespie, Chase Poole, Brooklyn Poole, Lauryn Poole, Christina (Henry) Broadus and Jay Elam; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Johnny Rockhold, will be held Monday, February 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered to www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
