Charles Kendall Clarke Ph.D., P.E.

Charles Kendall Clarke was born on April 11, 1945, in Ray, Arizona. The family later moved to Arkansas then Alabama.
Dr. Clarke received his BS degree from the University of Alabama, his MS and Ph.D. from Lehigh University. Following graduation from Lehigh, he worked for the military division of Boeing aircraft in Wichita, KS. Later he opened his own consulting practice in Mobile.
Dr. Clarke has been active in Mobile Kiwanis Club, the state Kiwanis Foundation, and multiple professional societies. Locally, he was involved with the Mobile Symphony, several civic projects, a mystic society, and was a long time member of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church.
He has published numerous papers, and was given a national award from the American Council of Engineering Companies for work done on a project in Pensacola. His ability to analyze engineering problems was highly recognized making him sought after by companies throughout the country. Dr. Clarke was an avid scholar of the Bible, and in his leisure time, he and his wife enjoyed ballroom dancing and showing their dogs. He was an excellent woodworker and liked to fish.
Dr. Clarke is survived by his wife Carolyn Daniels Clarke, his daughter Valerie Clarke Berger (Dr. Scott), and three grandchildren, Anna Carolyn, Robert Clarke, and Lydia Elizabeth Berger all from Winston- Salem, NC.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church in Mobile, AL.0
