With deep sadness, the family of Charles W. (Chuck) Crowder III announces his passing on February 19, 2025, at the age of 68.
Born on May 14, 1956, in Pensacola, Florida, Chuck was a 1974 graduate of John S. Shaw High School. He continued his education at the University of South Alabama, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. (Charlie) Crowder Jr. and Winnie A. Crowder. He is survived by his brother, Jim Crowder (Apryl), and his sister, Pam Smith (Joey); his niece, Kellie Brown (Ray), and nephew, Kody Wiggins (Katlyn); great-nephews Roston Brown, Riley Brown, and Easton Wiggins; and great-niece Haedyn Wiggins. He was a proud great-great-uncle to Rayce Brown. Chuck is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His beloved dogs, Baby and Bella, were his constant companions and brought him immense joy.
A longtime member of the Methodist Church, Chuck found strength and comfort in his faith. He embraced life with enthusiasm, whether spending time on his boat, riding his Harley Davidson, or reconnecting with old friends and classmates. His kindness and generosity made him a friend to many, and he will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Donations in Chuck's memory may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the University of South Alabama Children's & Women's Hospital.
