Charles Henderson

August 5, 1941 — January 1, 2021

My brother, Charles Kenneth 'Ken' Henderson 79, died 1/1/21 from complications of heart and lung diseases. After cremation he will be buried alongside his wife (Barbara Carrera, deceased 11-1-19) in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Because of coronavirus concerns there is no service or other related activities planned at this time. Ken was born in Prichard, Alabama and is preceded in death by his parents, John T. Henderson Sr. and Recie Belle Henderson and his older sister Marilyn Putney. He is survived by his older sister Nelda Loper, older brother John T Henderson Jr. and seven nieces and nephews. Ken graduated from Vigor High School and went to work for Scott Paper Company where he retired after 33 years. He served in the US Army in Germany and was a paid up for life member of the American Legion. Ken was honored by the Mobile Karaoke Association for being a founding member of karaoke activities in Mobile. He performed musically as WKEN in many concerts, conventions, reunions and various social organizations in Lower Alabama and beyond. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ocean cruising and RV travel with his wife and week long bicycle rides with his brother and two nephews. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and music lovers everywhere. John Henderson, brother
