Charles Rudolph McGlothren, Sr., born August 14, 1926 in Milton, FL to James Edward and Leila Giddens McGlothren, passed away on September 24, 2016. He was preceded in death by the love of his life for 65 years, Olivia Rambo McGlothren; his son, Charles Rudolph McGlothren, Jr., and daughter, Sharon Renee McGlothren. Charles is survived by his son, Michael S. (Janet) McGlothren; son, Gerald P. (Debbie) McGlothren; daughter-in-law, Jane McGlothren; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Charles was a veteran of World War II where he served aboard the USS Nevada and was at the Normandy Invasion. When he returned home from the war, he married Olivia and together raised 4 children. Charles had a long career with Alabama Power Company that spanned 40 years from which he retired in 1989. The family would like to express their appreciation to the Staff at Gordon Oaks Senior Living Center and to the Staff of Gulf Coast Nursing & Rehabilitation, and also Kindred Hospice Care, for their services and kindness.
