Charles Wayne Barber, of Mobile Alabama, left his earthly home on Sunday, March 26th.
Wayne was born in Red Bay Alabama on May 19, 1941. He moved to Mobile in 1962 to work for L&N Railroad, where he spent a career spanning decades before retiring. He enjoyed gardening and ridiculously spoiled his dogs, but his greatest pride was his grandchildren, whose memories of him include late night snacks of homemade popcorn and morning Krispy Kreme runs. He will be remembered as patient and kind, always eager to lend a hand or a hug, and countless "adopted" family can attest to his love and generosity. Wayne is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Reba Barber, and by their children Michael Barber, Belinda Taylor, Lisa Pinkham, and Alison Smith. Wayne and Reba are most proud of their 17 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents James and Clara Barber and 11 siblings.
He will be forever missed by his family and community.
