Charlie Mae Shaw Flowers, (1935-2018)
She was a native of Mobile, Alabama. She was born on March 26, 1935. She passed peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2018 at home with her love ones present. She was a faithful employee for Mobile National Linen Services for 38 years. She and her husband, Joseph E. (Joe) Flowers were married for 61 years. After retiring, she and her husband owned and operated Flowers Food Mart in Semmes, Alabama. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, puzzles, and watching any type of sporting events. She especially loved watching Alabama Football. She had more knowledge and statistical facts on Alabama Football than most sports announcers do today!
Most of all, she will be remembered for the love, kindness, and compassion she showed others. She never had a harsh word to say about anyone. She went out of her way to help family and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother, putting her family's needs always above her own. She is survived by her husband, Joseph E. (Joe) Flowers, daughters, Jo Anna Reneau, Elma Kaye Byrd, her son-in-laws, James Bryant Reneau, Sr. and Clayton Byrd, 3 grandchildren, James Bryant Reneau, Jr., Sara Alisha Byrd, and Seth Andrew Byrd, her sister, LaVerne Grissett, nephews and nieces, Wade Stanford, Daphne Stanford, and Regina Sawyer.
