Charlotte Faye Andrews Grimes, 70, a native and resident of Mobile, AL, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019. She attended B.C. Rains High School - Class of 1966. At the age of 16, she met the man who became her husband at Allstate Bowling Lanes off D.I.P. They later married and started a family. After 52 years of marriage that family grew into 3 children, 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Faye was not just a mother or wife, not just a grandmother or sister, she was so much more to all who knew her. She was a teacher that led by example. She taught love, compassion and forgiveness. She also taught how to always find good in the worst and to always look to God for answers. She was a devout Christian and attended church at Luke 4:18 Fellowship. She loved to make life grow by planting beautiful flowers and every bloom was truly a testament of her faith, family, humanity and everlasting commitment to God. She was a special person and all who knew her felt blessed. Faye was preceded in death by her father, Willie "Andy" Andrews and her mother, Charlotte Adele Andrews. Faye is survived by her husband of 52 years, Franklin W. Grimes, Jr.; her 3 children, Terri Rooney (Waynick), Dixie McNeil (Chris) and Ryan Grimes (Angel); 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Jacquelyn Brown; 1 brother, Herbert Andrews; other relatives and friends. Visitation for Mrs. Grimes will be held Monday, February 11, 2019, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held from Luke 4:18 Fellowship, Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Pine Crest West Cemetery, 1599 Snow Road South, Mobile, AL 36695.
