Christopher Welch

WELCH
Christopher Welch was born on March 20, 1955 in Mobile, Alabama. His father was Andy Johns Welch, a World War II Marine Corps veteran. His mother, Mary Cox Welch was from Birmingham. They met at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where he was going to school on the GI bill and she had just graduated from Woodlawn High School in Birmingham. Chris was the third of five sons. He had a happy childhood growing up in Colonial Oaks, went to Forest Hill Grammar School and graduated from Shaw High School. For the last 39 years he lived in Cypress Shores. He was a great fan of the Crimson Tide and watched every game. He knew every episode of Star Trek, Above all he was a wonderful son and brother. He is predeceased by his father Andy Johns Welch and his brother Russell Welch. He is survived by his mother Mary Welch his brother Cary with whom he was very close, his brother Andy and his wife Mary Lou, his brother Bart, his wife Rebecca and their children Jessica and Sam. Funeral services will be held from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 10 am. Visitation will start at 9am. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
