Clarice Turner Waters of Mobile, Alabama departed this life on Monday, 1 August 2016 at Allen Memorial Home. She was 94 years old. Clarice was born in Kreole, MS in 1922. She was the 2nd of 4 girls. She moved with her family to Louisville, MS after her father died. After graduation from business school, she moved to Mobile where she worked at Merchants Bank and later at Gulf Transport. In 1948, she married Cecil Waters. Over their 59 years of marriage they lived in Mobile and Warner Robins, GA. Clarice was a passionate cook of Southern and Creole cuisine, and loved nothing more than preparing meals and desserts for family and friends. Clarice is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cecil, and sisters Vemba and Audrey. She is survived by her sister Katherine Turner Watson; daughter Brenda Waters O'Brien (Chuck) of Mobile and son Curtis Waters (Jennifer) of Charleston South Carolina; Sisters in Law Annette Cosson of Jacksonville, FL and Betty Waters of Warner Robins GA; Grand Children Patrick (Nathalie) and Grey O'Brien (Virginia) of Mobile, Lauren Waters of Huntsville, AL, Ariel Waters of Charleston SC; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.Clarice was a cancer survivor. Many in her family also are. Several more are fighting it right now. The family requests that in lieu of flowers to consider making a gift to the University of South Alabama's Mitchell Cancer Institute.
