SFC (R) Clyde Addison Burch was born on February 20, 1934 in Preston, MS and died in Pensacola, FL on February 8, 2017. He was the 7th child of 8 born to Coleman and Sally Burch. He joined the U.S. Army in 1952 and served for over 20 years. While serving in Japan, he met a beautiful Japanese lady and made her his wife. They were married for over 61 years and had 5 children: Betty (James) Bullock, Rose (Kenny) Stabler, David (Mary Margaret) Burch and Daniel (Lori) Burch. He was preceded in death by his youngest child, Sally (Jerome) Phillips, his parents, two brothers; Curtis and Frank and two sisters, Rubye Mendzela and Mary Etta Ragsdale. He is survived by his wife Kazuko, four children, three brothers Raymond, Charles (Vada) Lavelle (Hazel) and 13 grandchildren; Misa (Mark), J. Hamilton (Samantha), Hank (Cassie), Harrison (Ashley) and Elizabeth Bullock, Alexa (Hunter) Adams, Marissa Stabler, Joshua, Mary Isabella, Meghan, Coleman, and Mary Addison Burch and Lilli Lawrence. During his career in the U.S. Army, he served in the Korean War and two tours of duty in Vietnam. Upon retirement from the army he began employment with Scott Paper Company, where he worked for over 20 years. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and friend. Visitation will be held from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM followed by Funeral services in the Chapel.
