Clyde Raymond Phillips (70) of Foley, Alabama was born July 7,1948 and went to be with his heavenly father on June 24,2019. After graduating from Satsuma High School in 1966, Clyde bravely served our country in the US Navy from 1968 until he was honorably discharged in 1978. He served on the USS Higbee and USS Tuscaloosa during his years of service. He had lived in Chickasaw’s Alabama Village, Whistler and Saraland before finally residing in Foley.
Clyde worked many years, and later retired, in the maintenance department at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. He was loved by anyone that met him! Clyde always had a smile on his face, and never met a stranger. He also had the biggest heart and was always willing to go above and beyond to help any friend, neighbor or even stranger.
Clyde was preceded in death by: His parents Fred and Mildred Phillips, a baby brother Freddie Phillips, and a sister Rita Katherine Cost. He is survived by his sisters Betty (Bill)Pullen, Shirley (Lige) Boykin, Donna (Jack) Myers, and Janet (Ray)Davis. Also survived by his nieces Tracy Chadwell, Holly Myers, Beverly Edmonds, Carolyn Hinson, and nephews Bill Pullen, Brian & Cory Davis, Shawn & Thomas Cost and many family and friends.
Funeral Services will be on Friday June 28,2019 at Mobile Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 10am until 12noon, with the service at noon in the Chapel. Internment will follow in the Veterans section of Mobile Memorial Gardens. Pall Bearers are Shawn Cost, Thomas Cost, Brian Davis, Cory Davis, Tyler Beck and Jack Myers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clyde’s memory to the Disabled American Veterans Po Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH. 45250-0301.
