Cornealia Yvonne Morrison, a lifetime resident of Mobile passed away on February 10, 2022 after a brief illness.
She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Yvonne Miller Morrison, brother Robert D Morrison Jr.
She is survived by her sisters Rachel L Quinley (Ernest, Sr), Rebecca A Elmore (Elzie), and sister-in-law Wanda K Morrison, and lifelong friend Carol Johnson.
She was adored and cherished by her nieces and nephews "The Super Six": Ernest L Quinley, Jr, Rhonda Q Daugherty, Sherri E Sanderson, Kerri E Parker, Katrina M Brown, and Kellie D Morrison. Great nieces and nephews: Ernest L Quinley III, Philip N Quinley, Brent A Daugherty, Trey Eubanks, Justin R. Parker, Jillian L. Parker, W. Chase Sanderson, and Gavin E. Brown., and seven great-great nieces and nephews.
Yvonne was employed at Brookley Field and the Pascagoula Naval Station. After her retirement from civil service, she became an integral part of Morrison's Nursery and Garden Center. She and her family worked six days a week in order to make it one of the leading retail nursery and garden centers along the gulf coast. Six days of work were followed by Sundays dedicated to the House of the Lord.
Every Sunday and Wednesday you would find Yvonne worshiping at Forest Hill Church of God alongside her family and friends. Her faith and family were her life... not just a part but the whole. Yvonne was an avid reader. She read The Bible from beginning to end every year. She hid His Word in her heart and in time of trouble or questioning, she leaned on the scriptures and quoted them from memory. Yvonne believed in all scripture and took to heart the command to spread the love of Christ throughout the world. Her generosity has allowed children around the world to know about her Jesus. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Hope House orphanage c/o Forest Hill Church of God, 5508 Moffett Road, Mobile, Alabama 36618.
The family will receive friends this Sunday, February 13th, 2:30 pm at Forest Hill Church of God followed by a Celebration of Life service at 3:30 pm.
