Col. Curtis Ray Skipper, retired U.S. Army. A longtime resident of Mobile, died on Wednesday after an extended illness. He was a 1949 graduate of Murphy High School. He was a Korean War Veteran and retired after 36 years of service to the U. S. Army and Army Reserve as the Commanding Officer of the 375th Transportation Group. He is survived by his wife, Marie Thornton Skipper and son, Cameron Skipper both of Mobile; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 10 am in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 439 Azalea Rd., Mobile, AL 36609
